All the glass is free blown, no moulds are used to shape the glass only wet newspaper, wooden blocks and the traditional glassmaker’s tools. Malcolm enjoys making bowls, vases, dishes and plates that have clean, smooth, simple shapes.
The decoration is achieved by sandblasting through the layers of colour in the glass and finally the pieces are polished which enhances the colours and results in a silky sheen to the finished pieces.
From 1991 to 2001 Malcolm ran his own studio in Chesterfield with the assistance of his wife Jean. In November 2001, after a lot of searching, Malcolm and Jean moved the glass studio to a disused bakery in the historic old town of Penryn in Cornwall.
Malcolm’s glass is sold throughout the UK, Europe, The USA, Japan and other countries and is also represented in various art galleries and Museums.
